Wells Fargo Arena

Hail damage and age were causing the roof of Wells Fargo Arena in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, to come apart and leak. In August 2022, Hopkins Roofing began the process of completing a full roof replacement, finishing the project in December 2023. This project closely followed the reroofing of the Iowa Events Center that Hopkins completed in 2022.

Work on Wells Fargo Arena consisted of three main phases: upper arena roof, lower arena roof, and concourse roof. In total, there were 13 different roof sections. The scope of work included removing the existing commercial roof system, installing three layers of insulation board, and applying a fully adhering EPDM membrane to create a roofing system that is warrantable for up to 30 years.

With a brand-new roof, thousands of people can continue to enjoy events like concerts, sports, and more at Wells Fargo Arena for years to come.
