About the Role

Hopkins Roofing is actively seeking an individual responsible for managing all aspects of Human Resources (HR). The human resources generalist directs overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resources function, including talent acquisition, talent management, and compliance. This role ensures Hopkins Roofing compliance with all federal and state employment laws and provides leadership to managers around cultural excellence.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of employment law, state and federal regulations and human resources policy, procedures, and best practices
  • Ability to treat others with respect regardless of age, sex, or status 
  • Self-starter with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills with fluent knowledge of spoken and written English 
  • Computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
  • 4-year college degree with a major in Business Management or HR Administration preferred
A Typical Work Week
  • Develop and lead the daily operations of human resources, including budgeting, staffing, and overall administration. 
  • Define, develop, and lead various initiatives in Hopkins Roofing that directly reflect the overall human resource plan. 
  • Direct assigned personnel in performance of their duties including, but not limited to, interviewing, hiring, evaluating, disciplining, and discharging. Provide guidance on performance of department employees. 
  • Lead talent acquisition and talent branding strategies to enhance candidate, hiring manager and team member experience. 
  • Consult business leaders to understand talent needs and implement effective strategies. 
  • Oversee strategic communications to inform, educate, engage, motivate, and retain talent. 
  • Establish and oversee pre-boarding strategy and execution. 
  • Lead talent management efforts across the organization. Identify, develop, and execute talent strategies to support the achieving of business goals. 
  • Establish and evaluate key metrics to measure the impact of talent management and the state of culture/engagement. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding critical talent issues and approaches. 
  • Facilitate difficult workplace conversations by maintaining composure, being prepared, and showing empathy to each individual while working toward mutually positive outcomes.
  • Produce accurate, professional, and error-free talent-related documentation in a timely manner including, but not limited to, performance evaluations, disciplinary action letters, termination recommendations, and investigation documents. 
  • Effectively manage projects and resources by multi-tasking and setting priorities. 
  • Carry out any additional assignments required to fulfill Hopkins Roofing missions/goals. 
  • Represent Hopkins Roofing in a positive manner at all times.
