The exterior of your home is made up of many parts, and at one time or another, those parts will need attention. Roof leaks, water damage, clogged gutters, fascia replacement, window capping, general home improvement—the list of reasons you may need to call the experts is extensive. So who should you call for what? How can Hopkins help?
You know Hopkins does roofing—it is in our name after all! But what other services do we offer? Keep reading for answers to common questions we hear about the work we provide.
Does Hopkins provide residential service and repairs?
The main focus of Hopkins Roofing is roof replacements, and at this time, we do not offer residential repairs.
If Hopkins replaced your roof in the past year, however, we will do repairs for you to honor our one-year workmanship warranty. After one year, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your roof product, such as CertainTeed or GAF, for additional repairs.
Note: We DO offer commercial repairs.
What is a workmanship warranty?
This type of warranty is offered by most contractors after you have had your roof installed. It covers the installation of the materials, so if something is installed incorrectly and an issue arises, the roofing contractor will cover the cost to fix and/or replace it.
How do I contact my manufacturer?
Go to the manufacturer’s website and they should have an 800 number you can call to report a leak or needed repair. Some manufacturers also have an app you can download to request service.
Here are a few common roofing manufacturers and shortcuts to their claims submission forms.
- CertainTeed or call 800.345.1145
- GAF
- Owens Corning

Fascia and soffit defined
Fascia is the vertical board that runs underneath your gutters—the board you see on the front of your roof’s overhang. The soffit is the horizontal board underneath that connects the fascia to your house. Together, they keep moisture, bugs, and critters out of your home.
What are signs my fascia and soffit need repaired or replaced?
Damage to your fascia can be tricky to spot. Using a ladder on the lower sections of your home, or even opening a window and looking up, can allow you to inspect the fascia properly. Issues typically arise from aging fascia boards in the form of cracking, warping, or rotting. Other problems may include insect infestations, or even holes from woodpeckers. The fascia needs to have enough strength to hold the gutter troughs on the eaves and maintain proper alignment of the soffit.
Your soffit works as a moisture barrier, protecting the roof rafters and trusses of your home so they stay dry. Soffit should look like one even layer of paneling between the fascia and your home. Any abnormally large hole or crack between pieces opens the door for moisture, creatures, or insects to make their way into your attic.
Do you do gutter repairs and replacements?
Yes, Hopkins can provide you with gutter quotes and services. Like fascia and soffit, we use a trusted partner for the actual labor, but our team is trained to discuss types of gutters and gutter guard options for your home.
What are signs my gutters need repaired or replaced?
The main purpose of a gutter system is to direct water away from your home. If the gutter system is leaking or placing water on or near your foundation (or home in general), it is time to consider a repair or replacement.
Typical repairs include rehanging of the gutters to the home or adding additional downspout extensions to drive the flow of water away from your property. Consider replacing your gutters if portions have broken off, or natural forces have caused penetrations in the metal.
Will Hopkins install gutters, fascia, and soffit with my new roof?
Yes, if you would like to update, upgrade, or replace your gutters, fascia, or soffit with your new roof, Hopkins can provide you with those services. We will work with trusted subcontractors to update your gutters, inspect your fascia and soffit, and replace your fascia board and soffit.
Does Hopkins service siding or do siding replacement?
We do not offer any siding services at this time, but would be happy to provide recommendations for other contractors.
Can Hopkins give me an estimate for a new roof and new siding?
